OBJECTIVE
Creative Labs and Sound Blaster had a new product in development for easy audio recording. The R Series were designed to create a simple USB platform that allowed users to record studio quality audio on the go. A focus was placed on the lightweight and compact design, a product that could be moved easily. Through our personal relationships, we attached Lindsey Pavao, semi-finalist from NBC's The Voice. With a strong following in social media, we felt she fit the inde musician model the do-it-yourselfers would look up to. Above all else, our goal was to inspire the would-be content creators to follow the success that Lindsey has had, and pursue their passion to record.
DIRECTION
We would follow Lindsey during her creative process as she utilizes the product in a variety of scenarios. We identified two key characters for the story-- Lindsey and the product. Lindsey is on her creative journey, while the product is there every step of the way, almost like a sidekick. For Lindsey, we adopted a more human style with handheld camera movement and earth tones. This would contrast the sleek blacks and vibrant reds of the product. Every product shot is smooth, either on sticks or a slider. The goal was to inspire, so we capped the narrative with a young girl, who looks up to Lindsey as a role model, and is able to use the simple R3 recording interface to practice her own craft.
