Ian Trueb - Owner

Hi There! I’m Ian Trueb, an award-winning filmmaker and visual storyteller who started making movies at age four. With an 8mm camera and a handful of action figures I taught myself stop-motion animation in my hometown of Manteca, CA, and kept making videos through high school. I trained at the Los Angeles Film School, worked on numerous productions — including award-winning shorts and music videos — and earned an Associate of Science in Film Production. I founded BackYard Studios, LLC to create cinematic, character-driven work that entertains and connects with diverse audiences.

I also love photography — capturing moments, expressions, and the small details that reveal who people really are. My goal is to help subjects see and love themselves through images and film, guiding projects from concept through post with a hands-on, imaginative approach.
